Homa Khosravi’s paintings highlight nature as an inexhaustible source of mystery and wonder. In her layered nocturnal landscapes, tangled branches and luminous fruits conceal dark and enigmatic scenes teeming with activity in the background. Her compositions explore evolving stories of dominance, survival, decay, and renewal. With their dreamlike atmosphere and intricate detail, these paintings invite viewers to wander along the pathways of the branches and discover new narratives.

About the Artist

Homa Khosravi, (b. Tehran, Iran) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver. She received her MFA from Simon Fraser University and BFA in Painting from the Tehran University of Art. Her work touches on surrealism, abstraction, and world-building with various “more than human” creatures through a multitude of mediums, including painting, video and sculpture installation. Khosravi seeks to create dreamlike yet deeply personal narratives that are shaped by her environment and lived experiences. Inspired by Persian gardens and her Iranian heritage, she weaves cultural symbolism with imaginative forms and shapes.
