Sara Janti

Self-portraits from the series The Fighter

In this body of work, Sara Janti combines reverse image transfer techniques with elements of Persian miniature painting to create layered compositions that pay homage to her cultural heritage while exploring the complexities of identity and belonging through a contemporary diasporic lens. By merging these different techniques and aesthetic influences, Janti seeks to facilitate a dialogue between the past and the present, and between tradition and innovation. Ultimately, her compositions stand as metaphors for the fertile clutter of a creative mind, a space where narratives jostle, collide, and generate new possibilities.
