Annual VIVA Exhibitions
Since 2023, the Vancouver Iranian Visual Arts Alliance (VIVA) has hosted annual exhibitions at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, each engaging artists with themes that resonate deeply across cultures and histories. Unveiling Honour (2023) reflected on acts of courage, dignity, and defiance in the Iranian struggle for freedom. An Evolving Aesthetics of Interruption (2024) examined disruption and contradiction as defining forces of contemporary life and artistic response. Most recently, On Origin Stories (2025) invited artists to reimagine origins as layered, shifting narratives that shape identity, heritage, and collective belonging. Together, these exhibitions form a continuum of inquiry into resilience, transformation, and the stories that bind us.
3rd Annual – On Origin Stories (2025)
Origins as evolving narratives shaping identity and collective memory.
2nd Annual – An Evolving Aesthetics of Interruption (2024)
Disruption and contradiction as fractures and catalysts for creativity.
1st Annual – Unveiling Honour (2023)
Honour as courage, dignity, and resistance in the Iranian struggle for freedom.
