The 2nd Annual VIVA Exhibition
An Evolving Aesthetics of Interruption
Vancouver’s Iranian Visual Arts Alliance (VIVA) holds its 2nd annual art exhibition at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, during March 22–24, 2024. This 3-day art exhibition features the works of 18 accomplished visual artists predominantly based in BC. This year’s exhibition theme is “An Evolving Aesthetics of Interruption”, and it explores the different ways in which local artists represent and react to the relentless change, extreme contradiction, and constant disruption that shapes our times.
Opening Night: March 22, 6–9 PM
This exhibition is free and open to the public.

Shadbahr makes the executive and curatorial decisions regarding VIVA’s annual exhibitions, the organization’s community engagement projects, and supportive services for local artists.

Maryam Babaei
Artistic Co-Director and Curator
Babaei's responsibilities include concept development, research, and writing, among other curatorial activities in collaboration with the VIVA team. She holds a BA in English Literature (UBC), and an MSc in Literature and Modernity (University of Edinburgh).
